Zinc bromide solution can be used as a transparent shield against radiation. It is used as an optimal catalyst for stereospecific and regioselective reaction of silacyclopropanes with carbonyl compounds. It finds an application as Lewis acid in organic reactions.
Application
In organic chemistry as a Lewis acid. It is the electrolyte in the zinc bromide battery. In oil and natural gas wells, solutions containing zinc bromide are used to displace drilling mud when transitioning from the drilling phase to the completion phase or in well workover operations.
Dosage
Zinc Bromide can affect you when breathed in and by passing through your skin. * Contact can irritate and burn the eyes and skin. * Breathing Zinc Bromide can irritate the nose, throat and lungs causing coughing and/or shortness of breath.
