Ammonium bromide is used for photography in films, plates and papers; in fireproofing of wood; in lithography and process engraving; in corrosion inhibitors; and in pharmaceutical preparations.
Application
Application. Tetramethylammonium bromide may be used as a template in the synthesis of small colloidal zeolite Y nanocrystals. Tetrabutylammonium bromide may be used in the molten state in the following processes: Synthesis of (2S)-5-(3-phenyl-2-phthalimidylpropanoylamino)isophthalic acid.
Dosage
Tetrabutylammonium bromide is prepared buy mixing n-butylbromide with tributylamine in acetonitrile, in an inert atmosphere, under reflux conditions for a sufficient period of time to form a solution containing tetrabutylammonium bromide, cooling the resulting solution; mixing the solution with water, thus forming a
