Sodium Hydroxide, Flakes, Technical is a highly caustic metallic base combined with alkali salt. Commonly known as Caustic soda, this inorganic compound is water soluble, as well as in ethanol and methanol. The dissolution of solid Sodium Hydroxide in water creates a highly exothermic reaction creates a lot of heat.
Application
Sodium hydroxide is used in bar soaps and detergents. Sodium Hydroxide is also used as a drain cleaner to unclog pipes. Around 56% of sodium hydroxide produced is used by industry, with 25% of NaOH used in the paper industry.
