o-Toluidine (CAS no. 95-53-4) is a synthetic chemical that is a light yellow liquid at ambient temper- ature. It is used primarily in the manufacture of dye- stuffs,
although it is also used in the production of rubber, chemicals, and pesticides and as a curing agent for epoxy resin systems.
Application
ortho-Toluidine is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of the large-volume herbicides, metolachlor and acetochlor, in the manufacture of more than 90 dyes and pigments (e.g. acid-fast dyestuffs, azo pigment dyes, triarylmethane dyes, sulfur dyes, and indigo compounds), and as an intermediate for synthetic rubber
