Epichlorohydrin is a highly reactive electrophilic compound and is used in the production of glycerol, plastics, epoxy glues and resins, epoxy diluents and elastomers.The principal uses for epichlorohydrin are in the production of epoxy resins (its primary use), synthetic glycerin, epichlorohydrin elastomers, specialty water treatment chemicals, wet-strength resins for paper production, and surfactants.

Dosage
The same hemoglobin adduct has been detected in humans and rats. Epichlorohydrin is distributed widely throughout the body. The highest tissue concentrations in rodents were found in the nose after inhalation and in the stomach after ingestion.
