Application
EDTA is used to improve stability of some pharmaceutical products, detergents, liquid soaps, shampoos, agricultural chemical sprays, contact lens cleaners and cosmetics. It is also used in certain blood collection tubes used by medical laboratories.
The Disodium salt of EDTA is the most commonly used form of this versatile organic complexing agent, which is used for the determination of many metal ions either by direct titration or by back-titration.
