Bromophenol blue indicator AR is used as a pH indicator,
an electrophoretic color marker, and a dye.
It can be prepared by slowly adding excess bromine to a hot solution of phenolsulfonphthalein in glacial acetic acid.
Application
BROMOPHENOL BLUE INDICATOR AR used as a laboratory indicator, changing from yellow below pH 3 to purple at pH and as a size marker for monitoring the progress of agarose gel and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
