Bismarck Brown Y powder dye is used in various staining methods in microscopy. It is a metachromatic dye used in histology for staining tissues, acid mucins, cartilage, and bones. It is also used in cytology. It is most commonly used as a counterstain to Gentian Violet.
Application
A dye used in microscopic or electron microscopic examination of cells and tissues to give contrast and to highlight particular features of interest, such as nuclei and cytoplasm.
A fluorescent dye used to stain biological specimens.
Dosage
Dissolve 0.5 g of Bismarck Brown Y dye in 80 ml of absolute ethanol Mix with 20 ml of hydrochloric acid, 1% aqueous solution .
