Flyash, also called as fuel ash, is a Coal Combustion Product (CCP) and an important construction material that results from the combustion of pulverized coal in thermal power stations. It is mainly composed of oxide forms of silicon, aluminum, iron, calcium, along with magnesium, potassium, titanium, and Sulphur in a lesser degree.
Fly ash when mixed with cement enhances the properties of cement and reduces cracking, due to this, the major share of fly ash is used in Pozzolan PortlandCement (PPC). The introduction of fly ash into concrete increases its flexural and compressive strength, improved pump ability, workability and consolidation.
